2019 October
Three members of the Gullegem Jets Ice Hockey Team succeeded in converting a shed of the former window factory Vlieghe into a new ice skating rink known as De Piste. “We have to do it. Otherwise it would be over for many hockey and skating clubs after the closure of the ice rink Finlandia in Gullegem", say Marie Joye, Kenneth Deryckere and Frank Meulebrouck. Ice rink De Piste expects to serve at least 24,500 visitors per year.

After opening, De Piste threatens to close
“The costs are skyrocketing and the support we receive is insufficient,” says co-manager Kenneth Deryckere "Our figure skating club has about 70 members, our ice hockey club about 120.
