Federation Launches "Put Wheels on Your Dreams" Program
El Heraldo article about an initiative of the Honduran Skating Federation offering skating classes to children age three and older from public and low income schools. Classes are taught in the parking lot of the Cascadas Mall. The program is an effort to promote skating as a recreational and competitive activitiy i Honduras.

New Skating Federation in Honduras in 2003
Inline skating and quad roller skating are relatively new sports in Honduras, but as of August 2003 that country was in the process of organizing an official roller sports federation, so you can expect to see Honduran skaters competing at international events in the near future. Honduras is located in Central America and its border countries are Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.

FIRS Recognized Honduras in 2004
Honduras and twelve other regional and national skating federations were granted provisional affiliation with the International Roller Sports Federation at a FIRS Central Committee Meeting on March 26, 2004 in Miami, Florida USA.

Ice Rink in Tegucigalpa
Some sources say there is a small ice skating rink inside one of the shopping centers in the Honduran city of Tegucigalpa but we are still looking for confirmation of which mall, and if the rink still exists.

Honduras is not a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) and also not a member of the International Skating Union (ISU) that governs ice figure skating and ice speedskating.
