The National Water Sports Complex and Velodrome-Patinódromo is located in the city of San Salvador , El Salvador . The highest figure of national cycling, Evelyn García, was honored this morning by the National Institute of Sports of El Salvador (INDES), by designating the National Velodrome with her name and in this way recognizing her sporting achievements that have transcended nationally and international.
Within Evelyn's track record, she has participated in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, thus becoming the second Salvadoran cyclist to attend a fair of the Olympic cycle. In 2008 he attended the Olympic Games for the second time, this time in Beijing, China.
In 2012 it participated in its third Olympic Games in London, and became the second best in Latin America, by positioning itself in box 26 of the road event.
Facility Improvements
In 2012, INDES carried out repairs at a cost of $ 32,065.90 at the National Velodrome with the purpose of improving the training conditions of national cyclists, as well as for the performance of administrative personnel.
The works basically consisted of repairs to administrative areas, sanitary services, general painting, repairs of cracks and construction joints of the cycling track and fitting out of an auditorium.
