In 2001 the 2001 Tahiti Inline Marathon was renamed the "Tahiti Nui Roller Marathon", it was held for the third time on the island of Moorea, and it was also the 3rd annual event.

Race Course:
The marathon had a flat route on the paved road that circles the north part of Moora island. The course went past by many of the island's major hotels and into Opunahu Bay.

Schedule:
- February 16th (Friday): Pasta party at 6:30 p.m.
- February 17 (Saturday): Marathon began at 7.30 a.m.
- February 17 (Saturday): Children's race began at 10.30 a.m.
- February 17 (Saturday): Eventing award ceremony at Tiki Village
