About the Event
Route Description
The start line was at Teahupoó, which is famous for large surfing waves.
The course winds along a lagoon and between valleys as
it crosses to the opposite site of Tahiti Iti.
It then follows the edge of a lagoon until it
reaches the finish line in the small, typically
Tahitian village of Tautira where refreshments
were offered and festivities were held.
Tahitian Sport Demonstrations
All day on race day there were demonsetrations
of traditional Tahitian sports, including
lifting huge volcanic rocks,
throwing spears and
running with 250 pounds of coconuts.
Registration Fees for Marathon and Half Marathon
- $50 before August 1st
- $70 Past Augugust 2nd
- Includes Race number, finisher T-Shirt, Shell finisher medal
- Does not include any meals
