Multiple-purpose indoor arena first opened in 1985
that was originally designed as a dual-use
venue with an ice hockey rink and as basketball stadium.
The first Greek Ice Hockey Championship was held
in the stadium in 1989. The operation of the skating rink
was later discontinued to make room for other sports.
Today the arena is used for sports competitions and
performance events.
It is perhaps most well-known for being the
home game venue of the
Olympiacos B.C.
Greek professional basketball team.
