We have not found any roller derby leagues or teams in Guatemala but a famous roller derby skater and coach was born in Guatemala: Ralph Valladares was born in Guatemala on July 31, 1936, he moved to the United States when he was 12. He skated for the Los Angeles Braves roller derby team when he was 17, and soon after transferred to the Miami Westerners where he became a star. In 1960 he was a founding member of the Roller Games Franchise Los Angeles Thunderbirds team. He appeared as a skater the 1972 move "Kansas City Bomber" and he retired from skating in 1987. Ralph Valladares died on November 13, 1998 in hte United States in the city of Pico Rivera, Southern California. He was posthumously inducged into the Roller Derby Hall of Fame in 2004. Resources
