By accident I found your page on rollerskating and the subpage on Mauritius, which is quite empty. Actually, there is a roller-life on Mauritius. At least there was in one week of Septermber and October of 2004.

We went there with my friend and did some skating on the North Coast (Marina resort near Grande Baie). We did some 15 km runs almost every day for a week, rolling mostly on the roads there. People seemed to see the gear for the first time in their lives: "C'est bon sport!", "La grand vitesse!" was what we usually heard. And that look saying: "wow, it's incredible, how the hell are they doing that?" :)

I don't know if rollerskates can be bought there. We brought our gear with ourselves. But it was fun. The roads there are rolling - ups and downs are amost ideal for skating. And the weather was incredible in September/October - low humidity and air temperature of 24-28 Celcius. You need nothing more to be happy :)
