Royal Sportainment Complex Ice Rink
Myanmar's first real-ice skating rink opened on May 1, 2019 in the Mayangone Township of Yangon. The indoor rink is within a sports center known as the Royal Sportainment Complex, that is also the home of an 11-lane bowling alley and a cafe. The facility is a joint venture between the Maynmar Economic Corporation and the Htoo Groups of Companies. The sports center's ice rink is 25 by 27 meters in size (675 square meters), its ice is 3.5 inches thick, and the ice sheet can accommodate up to 60 skaters at a time. Skates, knee pads, and helmets are available for rent and skating lessons are provided free because ice skating is such a novelty in Myanmar. Myanmar Plaza Ice Rink
At one time there was a small synthetic ice skating rink within the Myanmar Plaza Shopping Mall but that rink closed on September 2, 1920. The Myanmar Plaza Mall is located at 192 Kabaraye Pagoda Road in the city of Yangon.
