First Skating Race in Puerto Salvador Allende

FROM THE ARTICLE: This Sunday, June 13, the first skating initiation race competition was held in commemoration of the birth of the universal poet Rubén Darío. The event was held at the Heliport of Puerto Salvador Allende, in the capital, where three clubs participated, in seven categories (male and female) that was attended by children, adolescents and young people from Managua and Villa El Carmen.

FROM THE ARTICLE: This weekend a 700-meter skating rink was inaugurated in the Luis Alfonso Velázquez Flores park, reported La primerísima. The work that is capable of housing 500 people was inaugurated by Vice Mayor Enrique Armas, who declared that it is the first runway to be built in Managua. Armas informed that the recreational space will be open every day and also those who do not have skates will be able to rent in the park for 10 cordobas

Sports at the 2017 Central American Games in Managua

Article published in February on 2016 on the "xinhuanet.com" Web site noting that roller sports will not be included in the 2017 Central American Games in Managua due to lack of infrastructure to support them. FROM THE ARTICLE: The Organizing Committee of the Central American Games of Nicaragua 2017 presented on Tuesday the list of sports disciplines that will participate in this fair, which includes 28 specialties. The approved Olympic disciplines are athletics, cycling, basketball, boxing, fencing, soccer, golf, field hockey, judo, weightlifting, swimming, rowing, rugby sevens, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, triathlon, handball, shooting and volleyball. Those that are not recognized as Olympic, but will be in the Central American Games in Managua 2017, are chess, billiards, bodybuilding, karate, softball, baseball and surfing. In addition, sambo was added as an exhibition sport. Sports excluded due to lack of infrastructure include gymnastics, sailing, badminton, racquetball, bowling and skating.
