Last Sunday, May 8th, the 1st edition of the Ribeiragrandense
Figure Skating Cup took place, organized by the
Ribeiragrandense Skating Club, which took place at the
Ribeira Grande Sports Complex Pavilion, with the support
of the City Council of Ribeira Grande.
Three guest clubs participated in the event,
namely the Azores Figure Skating Academy, the São Pedro
Skating Club and the Ponta Delgada Skating School, with a total of 47 participants.

This weekend, the Municipal Pavilion of Cuba hosts the
3rd Figure Skating Open, organized by the Portuguese Skating Federation
with the collaboration of the Cuban Skating Club.
In competition will be 240 athletes from clubs from north
to south of Portugal and islands, in what is one of the most
important events of the modality, where athletes are selected for
the national championship.

The Cuban Figure Skating Club is twice regional champion of the modality
after the tests that took place in the Municipal Pavilion of Cuba,
last weekend. According to the club, the Cuban athletes “performed
excellent tests, thus showing all the work developed during the season”,
and reached the podium at all levels
