A history of Ice Rinks in Thailand
TIce Skating Association of Thailand was created after an ice
skating rink was built in Bangkok in the 1970's
in the area of New Petchburi Road.
A fire in (2521 B.E.) destroyed that rink,
which at the time was
the only ice skating rink in Thailand.
This caused a delay in the progress
of developing an ice sports program in Thailand.
In later years, a new ice skating rink was built
in the former parking lot of the Mall Ratchaprasong.
That rink was later closed due to problems related
to the hot humid climate.
