Governing Body

Ice Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan Organization recognized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) as the national governing body for the sport of Ice Hockey in Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan became a full member of the IIHF on May 15, 2015. According to the organization's IIHF profile, the country has 5 indoor ice rinks where ice hockey can be played.

FROM THE BUILDER: "The Ice Hockey Arena, known as the Ice Pavilion, is a winter sports complex built at international standards with the aim of advancing Turkmenistan to the world scene in winter sports, which also functions as a modern exhibition hall for artistic events.

TRAINING RINK CAPACITY: 300
DORMATORY CAPACITY: 300 students
BOARDING SPORTS SCHOOL CAPACITY: 350 students
LEVELS: Five floors
ICE SHEETS: Main rink and training rink
FACILITIES AND AMENITIES: Fitness center, rooms for acrobatics and dance, outdoor fields, fountains, parking lots.

An indoor ice rink opened in Khujand as part of a sports complex in 2012. The rink measures 30x40 in size. Tajik president, Enomali Rahmon, was present for the opening of the Khujand Sport Arena, which houses the facility.
