The full name of this Huntsville ice skating rink is the "Benton H. Wilcoxon Municipal Ice Complex". The rink has curling, figure skating,and ice hockey programs, an ice skating school, and public skating sessions. Home of the Skating Club of Huntsville (schsv.com is offine). The rink is located at 3185 Leeman Ferry Road in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama HISTORY: Mr. Benton H. Wilcoxon opened the Ice Palace off of Governor’s Drive in 1959. It was operated as a private corporation for 27 years. On September 11, 1986, Mr. Wilcoxon donated the Ice Palace to the City of Huntsville and it became a municipal facility. That facility was replace by a brand new ice skating rink, named the "Benton H. Wilcoxon Municipal Ice Complex" that first opened to the public on December 15, 1991.

Former Alabama ice skating rink with ice figure skating and ice hockey programs and a pro shop. Also offered ice skating lessons and public ice skating sessions. Previously known as the "Oxmoor Ice Lodge". The rink was located at 160 Oxmoor Road in the city of Birmingham, Jefferson or Shelby County, Alabama. After it closed on May 31, 2000 its building was remodeled and turned into a place of worship known as the Shades Valley Community Church.
