Butte High Altitude Skating Center
Seasonal, outdoor 400 meter ice speedskating track typically open Deember through February. Formerly known as the U.S. High Altitude Sports Center (since April 1986). The track was conceived in 1985, its groundbreaking ceremony was August 1, 1986, and built in 1987 as a training facility for Olympic speedskating athletes. The facility hosted a world cup ice speedskating competition the weekend of November 28, 1987, an event that was a primer for the Calgary Olympics a few months later. The final world cup competition in Butte was held in 2000. The Butte High Altitude Skating Center is located at One Olympic Way in the city of Butte, Montana
