Indios del Zulia Hockey
Ice Hockey team founded in 1997 at the
ice skating rink of the Galerias Mall Shopping Center.

HISTORY:
At the end of 1996 there was only one ice hockey team,
and it was called "Orcas del Zulia", established by
a group of plaeyrs who created their own hockey school.
So many playerts were trained at that school that it
became necessary and advisable to divide the team into
more than one team (Indios and Orcas), Both teams
participated in a three-team meet in the city of
Puerto Ordaz along with a team from that city.
Wtihin two years, two new teams were created,
the Vikings (Vikingos) and the Gladiators (Gladiadores)
and an Ice Hockey Cup competion was established.
A junior league was also founded,
with two teams for children and young people.
Today only one team is still active, Los Indios Del Zulia,
and among its players are the former team members of
the Orcas, Vikings, junior teams, and the origianl
Los Indios team.
The team was original focused on ice hockey but due
to the lack of intereset and infrastructure for that sport
in Venezuela, they began also playing and competing
in the sport of inline hockey.
