Sheila Herrero of Spain Retires

Sheila Herrero of Spain, one of the top inline speed skaters in the world, announced on October 1, 2003 that she is retiring from competitive inline speed skating.

Sheila has had an impressive career, which included establishing 4 new world records, and winning 88 titles at the Spanish Nationals, 36 titles at the European Championships, 15 titles at the World Championships, and triumphing 49 times at international competitions.

When Sheila announced her retirement, the Spanish Federation thanked her for all of the years she contributed to the sport and they congratulated her on her magnificent international skating career that was a credit to her country and her sport.
