A directory places around the world where you can skate clothing optional legally
plus tips for avoiding injury when you skate naked
and how to behave when you are skating at a naturist resort where nudity
is commonplace.
Skating clothing optional on your local bike path
is probably
not a good idea, and you could be arrested for it in
many parts of the world (for example, in the United
States!).
Quite a few people have tried it, and some of them
quite publicly - like the 40 skaters who posed
in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park
for Jack Gescheidt and Sandy Snakenberg's fifth
Nude Skating Photography Session in July of 2001.
But skating legally in the clothing optional IS possible
and it happens every day, at hundreds of naturist
resorts around the world. In fact, inline skating
is a very suitable activity for naturist or clothing
optional resorts, because it is not a contact sport
(meaning physical contact between the participants
is not required).
Tips and Advice
Safety:
If you decide to try skating in the nude, be sure to
wear all of
your body protection, and then some. What to protect?
Think of the parts of your body you would LEAST like
to have scraped across asphalt at a high rate of speed.
And don't forget to wear plenty of sunscreen!
Etiquette and Courtesy:
Naturist resorts and clubs typically have guidelines
such as the following:
No photos of anyone without permission
Conduct must be appropriate for a family setting
Behave as if you were at a non-nude resort
No talking about who you saw at the resort
Places to Skate Nude Legally
Here are a few of the many places around
the world where it is possible to legally
skate nude.
Sun Birds Sun Club
(Texas USA)
FROM A MEMBER: "Personally, I have skated, ridden bicycles, juggled,
played tennis, played ping-pong, played volleyball
and basketball, ridden a jet-ski, piloted
a sailboat, and much more at fine nudist
resorts across the U.S. and around the world."
Sandpipers Resort
(Texas USA)
FROM THE MANAGEMENT:
"Nearly all of the streets at Sandpipers Resort are paved and
available for inline skating. We have no restrictions except
to caution skaters to respect the rights of pedestrians.
My advice to people wishing to try clothing optional skating is to remember
that falling is inevitable, and that road rash on any part of
the body is not fun. Also remember that appearing to be a
menace to pedestrians will usually lead to restrictions."
Healthy Hides of Houston

"Our advice for people who would want to try clothing optional inline skating is to not
take "nude" literally. Just as "nude" water-skiers wear flotation devices,
nude inline skaters should wear appropriate protective gear. Nudists like
to be free of restrictive clothing, but are not reckless regarding their
personal safety".

"People often skate clothing optional here.
Inline skating is on paved streets and parking areas,
but you will be sharing it with
pedestrians and golf carts. Wear knee pads."
Paradise Lakes Condos I

"You may skate at Paradise Lakes in the nude. We have
paved roads that most of our residents use to
rollerblade, ride their bikes or just jog!"
FROM A RESIDENT:
"We have a lot of inline skaters
(not hardcore jumpers, but exercise types) that skate clothing optional on the
grounds. There are streets to skate on and the security
of the walls allows for peace of mind."
Bare Necessities Travel Agency
(Caribbean)
"I would say that the road near the
Resort in Bonaire is deserted enough most of
the time, that you could skate clothing optional and probably get away with it. I would,
however, suggest that you carry a coverup, such as a pareo,
in case a car should come along".
Rent a Roller Rink or Skate Park
Nude skating is also possible at
roller skating rinks.
Many rinks regularly rent their facilities
to naturist clubs and resorts for clothing optional skating sessions.
I suppose it would be possible to rent an entire
skate_park for clothing optional skating sessions, but aggressive
skating in the clothing optional is NOT something
I would recommend (although Adam Bender skates in the
nude on the
T-Bone Films
Hoax 5 video, and does a clothing optional miszou on
Joe Navran's
F.O.R. video).
FROM A MEMBER OF THE
HILL COUNTRY CLUB IN TEXAS:
I know that just about any rink will rent out to groups,
even nudist groups.
There is a nudist resort called
Live_Oak_Resort north
of Brenham, Texas that
rents the roller rink in Brenham"
