Alpine Ice Sports and Entertainment Centre
Ice skating rink in Christchurch, New Zealand
that first opened in April of 1985. it replaced the former
and smaller Centaurus Ice Rink that closed in 1983.
In a famous incident, the roof of this ice rink collapsed
during an exceedingly heavy snowfall in August of 1992
but it was repaired and re-opened after a nine month closure.
Alpine Ice has figure skating, ice hockey and speedskating
programs and it is the home of the
Centaurus Ice Skating Club,
Canterbury Master Figure Skating Club, the
Alpine Ice Skating School, the
Mainland Ice Racing Club, the
Canterbury Alpine Ice speed Skating Club, the
Kowi Flyers Club, and the
Canterbury Red Devils ice hockey team.
The rink is located at 495 Brougham Street
in the city of Christchurch, in the Canterbury Region,
on the South Island of New Zealand.

Dunedin Ice Stadium
St. Kilda ice skating rink that was built in 2004, two
years after the smaller "Big Chill" ice rink closed.
A four lane curling rink was built adjacent to the
ice rink in 2006. The Dunedin Ice Stadium is the home of the
Dunedin Ice Hockey Association, the Dunedin Thunder Ice Hockey Team,
theDunedin Ice Skating Club, and the
Dunedin Curling Club. The rink also has a broomball program.
