Day 2: Practicing in a School Playground
|
On the first day after my first inline skating lesson
I decided to practice what I learned the day before
in the playground of a local school in my neighborhood.
The Day After My First Skating Lesson
by Doan-Trang Tran
It was a beautiful Sunday. Sunny and a little bit hot. I woke up
and I was so ready to skate. I went to a local school in my neighborhood
for some practice.
I put on my protective gear and started rolling. There were a couple
kids on the playground. Of course, we were aware of each other presence
and we tried not to run into each other. It was not so hard to skate when
people were around. I did fall a couple times... but like I always say,
"it wasn't that bad".
I skated for more than an hour. At the end of my
practice, I realized that I put my wrist guards on upside down.
The plastic is suppose to cover my palms but it was covering
the top of my hands (don't laugh!).
My middle back muscles hurt so bad. I talked to Kathie the next morning
about my back problem. She suggested that I may want to round out my
back like the way
Eddy Matzger did. So I am going to try that on my next day.
