Week 11
Weekend Beginning July 23
My Salomon Magneseum Elite skates are a bit tight for me. I may need to
stretch them some more. On Satuday, I decided to try on my Salomon Pilot
Pro 9i. I got this pair when I just start learning skating. I tried them on
for a couple times and felt hard since they went really fast and I wasn't
able to control them back then. I went out for long distance skates on
Saturday, July 17. I skated from Hermosa Beach to Marina del Rey and back.
It took me 2 hours and It was the longest distance I have ever skated. I am
tired but I felt good.
I had a training session with Nat on Wednesday the 21st. Instead of
learning in the parking lot, we want to hit the trail this time. I met Nat
on the Strand, Hermosa Beach. We started rolling and warmed up the ankles.
Nat asked me to give him a highlight story about my Hawaii trip. So, there
I am skating and thinking where should I started. The next thing I know is
that I was loosing control, leaning back, flying ..... in the air and
landing on my right hip. Nat skated ahead of me, he tried to help me by
yelling "save it, save it". It happened so fast, I could not saved it. I
laughed so hard and wished that someone was there with a camera. I told Nat
that he had the best view of my fall in slow motion. It's hurt but wasn't
that bad. I got a little road rash on my right arm and bruise on my hip.
Nat felt so bad because he asked me to divide my thoughts which he forgot
that I could not do. I tried not be a multitasker. I am only focusing at
one thing at the time. The rest of the training was tipical. We worked mostly
on the strides and I need a
couple of days off to completely heal from that fall.
